How to Move a Proposal Through the CAC

Navigating the CAC Process

This is an interactive process. The easiest way to create a proposal is to reach out for advice:

CAC Division Representatives
Lead Curriculum Coordinator: Kaylene Thomas, kmthomas3@sbcc.edu
Curriculum Technician: Erica Ramirez, eramirez69@pipeline.sbcc.edu

Only for brand new courses or programs

"Create New Proposal" button in Curricunet circled in Red

Your classified curriculum team strongly suggests you build your new course/program on a word or google doc then transfer the information into the curriculum software.

You can reach out to Kaylene or Erica for assistance. They are happy to help you start a new proposal and send you blank templates to work off of.

Modifications are started off of Active records. If the Modify button is missing, a proposal has already been started.

You can reach out to Kaylene or Erica for assistance. They are happy to help you start a modification and walk you through updates.

Please refer to our Distance Education page.

If you are submitting a proposal for an online course (hybrid or fully online) consider scheduling a meeting with:

  • Your CAC division representative for course and curriculum design.
  • Laurie Vasquez for accessibility.
  • The Faculty Resource Center for training and additional support with course design.

Please consult our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility and Anti-Racism (DEIAA) Website

This website was created by CAC and offers helpful tips on how to address both the new DEIAA questions in the COR as well as the DE addendum questions on Accessibility (question 2), and Regular and Substantive Contact (questions 3 and 4)

Your CAC division representative is your best resource for assistance

The clone button is used to create a brand new course from an existing course. The most common example would be creating a new honors course.

Please consult with Kaylene or Erica before using the ‘clone’ button

Only Kaylene or Erica can start a reactivation proposal. Please reach out to your classified curriculum team for assistance.
